Gary Dean Rossmanith, 65, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville, Iowa with the Rev. Robert Zellmer officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Churdan, Iowa with full military honors conducted by the Farnhamville American Legion and the Iowa National Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Gary is survived by his three children, Jeremiah (Erin) Rossmanith of Barnum, Iowa, Sheila Pliner of Fort Dodge and Sarah (Josh) Keels of Duncan, South Carolina; eight grandsons, Brady, Alex, Ethan, Tyler, Zachary, Easton, Griffin, and Graham; three brothers, Phillip Rossmanith of Gowrie, Ed Rossmanith of Rolfe and Jim Rossmanith of Churdan. Gary is preceded in death by his parents.

Gary Dean Rossmanith the son of Henry and Ila (Schamel) Rossmanith, was born January 9, 1949 in Lake City, Iowa and graduated from Gowrie High School in 1967. On March 27, 1968, Gary entered the United States Army and served as a MP in Saigon until he was discharged on December 26, 1969. Gary was a driver for UPS for 33 years retiring in 2004. He enjoyed the outdoors. Gary loved to fish, hunt, and go golfing with his friends.

He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville and was a member of the American Legion Post 510 of Farnhamville.
