Harriet Jeanblanc, 74, of Fort Dodge, died August 26, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church with Monsignor Kevin McCoy officiating. Interment will be held in Newark Cemetery, Vincent. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Harriet Sampson, the daughter of Lyle and Jeannette (Connor) Sampson, was born May 28, 1940 in Kanawha, IA. She graduated high school from Eagle Grove. On June 10, 1961, Harriet was united in marriage to Donald Jeanblanc. The couple made their home and raised their family in Vincent. In 1988 the couple moved to Coalville. Harriet worked as a bank teller, most recently for Northwest Bank, retiring in 2012. She was very talented in gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking. She enjoyed painting, reading, music, crafting and camping with friends. Her home-made cards for all occasions will be greatly missed by all those who received them. Harriet loved her family and enjoyed her time with the grandchildren and great- grandkids.

She is survived by her husband Donald; her children Kimberly Bockoven of Fort Dodge, Kendal Jeanblanc of Otho, Donnell (Mark) Skow of Rutland; her grandchildren Jessica Bockoven, Evan Jeanblanc, Sierra (Clayton) Vorland, Megan and Vanessa Skow; 2 great grandchildren Ryerson and Kahler Vorland; her siblings Sharon Sowers of Dexter, MN, Mary (Lowell) Guddall of Ankeny, and Donald Sampson of Fort Dodge.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Bob Sowers and her sister-in-law Nancy Sampson.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
