Webster County Fair Board says ‘thank you’
To the editor:
The Webster County Fair Board would like to thank everyone that helped to make the 2014 Webster County Fair a huge success. It takes many volunteers a huge amount of hours to make the fair possible each year.
Thanks to PICA (Pride In Community Appearance) for making two visits to our fairgrounds to make it a more beautiful place. A huge thanks to all of the 4-H/FFA kids/families, leaders, project superintendents, Linda Cline and her Extension staff. Their hours of work on and off the grounds are helping to bring these fairgrounds back to life. Thanks to Ron Webb, our groundskeeper, for all his hard work before, during and after the fair and throughout the year. He gives countless hours of energy and dedication to set-up and clean up which helps the Fair Board keep things running smoothly – more than anyone realizes or sees.
Thanks to the volunteers who spent countless hours organizing and running the Open Shows in Photography, Baking, Bill Riley Show, Little Miss Contest, BBQ Cook-off. Watch for additional Open Show areas in 2015 that the public will want to participate in.
We couldn’t have held such a great fair if it wasn’t for the wonderful coverage of The Messenger and Consumer News. You covered every area of our fair with articles and photos every day and more. Many thanks go out to the Dayton Leader, Fort Dodge Press, Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and Fort Dodge community sites for their awesome online fair coverage. Thanks for getting the word out there on our events. Your support of the Webster County Fair is greatly appreciated!
The Antique Tractor Club is a wonderful addition to the fair. Fair-goers young and old enjoy and learn so much at your site on our grounds. Thank you for your kids rides, food, shows and knowledge. We are so happy that you are a part of the Webster County Fair.
The Fair Board would like to thank the County Supervisors for their support, as well as all of the families and businesses that made a monetary donation or donated their time, labor or equipment; it is what makes this fair possible.
Thank you to the families and businesses that attended the livestock and woodcarving auction, supporting the youth and the Fair Board.
