Speedy trial waived for Veal and Bryson

The attorneys for two teens facing charges of attempted murder waived their clients’ rights to speedy trials this week.

Jerique Bryson’s attorney, Darren Driscoll, filed a waiver of a speedy trial on Tuesday and Malik Bryson’s attorney, Douglas Cook, filed a waiver on Monday.

They are accused of shooting at each other behind houses in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue Southwest on June 11. A bullet hit Wanda Mosley, 38, as she was sitting in her home at 1206 10th Ave. S.W.

Veal, 18, and Bryson, 17, both of Fort Dodge, will be tried separately, court records show.

Both teens pleaded not guilty to the charges.
