Patterson faces

additional charges

A Fort Dodge man, previously charged with allegedly writing more than $14,500 in fraudulent checks and a robbery at gunpoint, faced an additional three charges of forgery and two counts of theft in Webster County Magistrate Court Saturday.

According to the charging documents, each of the three forgery charges stems from Kearie Patterson, 28, 1208 Ave. B, allegedly forging a signature on three separate checks belonging to Flagger Pros USA. He is accused of attempting to cash one of the checks, for $3,397.26, at Frontier Community Credit Union. The other two, for $2,376.86 and $3,397.26 were attempted to be cashed at Great Western Bank, the documents allege.

Patterson is also facing two counts of second-degree theft for creating two checks using the Flagger Pros USA account at Great Western Bank.

Magistrate William Thatcher set bond in the amount of $10,000 on each of the forgery charges and $5,000 on each of the theft charges.

Patterson’s previous bond, in the amount of $50,000 was continued.

Operating while intoxicated, first offense – Sally Hart, 58, 1207 N. 10th St., preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 28.

Failure to obey stop sign – Sally Hart, 58, 1207 N. 10th St., continued 180 days.
