Halfway house resident charged with possesion of contraband
Jerry White, 48, a resident of the Fort Dodge Community Corrections Center, 311 First Ave. S., made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court for a charge of possessing contraband in a correctional facility.
White allegedly locked himself into a bathroom stall at the facility while possessing a rolled up cigarette and a “green leafy substance believed to be marijuana,” charging documents say.
Facility staff found White and another inmate, Brian Johnson, inside the bathroom stall with the door blocked, charging documents say.
White was held on $5,000 bail because of his previous convictions.
He has a preliminary hearing set for Aug. 22.
