MOORLAND – Rosemary V. Thompson, 78, Moorland passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Humboldt South Cares Center.

Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Moorland with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery. A visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a vigil at 7:00 p.m.

Rosemary is survived by her sons, Larry (Diana) of Humboldt; Kenny of Moorland; Ron (Lora) Eagle Grove; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Stacy of Des Moines and Shirley Kesterson of Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret (Halligan) Sullivan; husband, Gene; grandson, Jacob; three brothers, Robert, John and Fred.

Rosemary V. Sullivan was born April 13, 1936 in Moorland. She attended school in Moorland graduating from Moorland in 1954. Following her education Rosemary become employer for public Loan of Fort Dodge. On November 5, 1956 Rosie was united in marriage to Gene Thompson at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Moorland. They established their home in Moorland. She was a bookkeeper for Jaeschke Tractor for many years. She also was the Moorland City Clerk for over 30 years. In her later years, Rosemary was a C.M.A in The Gardens for Friendship Haven for a period of time. Rosie was proud of her flower garden, enjoyed bird watching, the outdoors, and she loved her extended family at Friendship Haven.
