Preliminary hearing set for Bringus

COALVILLE – The suspect in a June 1 Coalville home invasion made his initial appearance in Magistrate Court Friday.

Jason J. Bringus, 37, of Fort Dodge, is facing charges of attempted murder, first-degree robbery, assault while participating in a felony and going armed with intent, all felonies. He also faces an aggravated misdemeanor, carrying weapons.

Bringus’ preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 15 and he is held on $67,000 bond.

Bringus, who is accused of stabbing Dean Henderson at his Coalville home on June 1, had been recovering at a Des Moines hospital since the early morning incident in which Bringus was shot.

Bringus was ordered to have no contact with Henderson, Henderson’s family or his residence.
