Laurens men face charges for meth

LAURENS – A Pocahontas deputy arrested a Laurens man after allegedly finding several individually wrapped packages of methamphetamine in his vehicle after a routine stop.

Bobby S. Cooper, of Laurens, was allegedly driving while intoxicated and under a suspended license on Aug. 2. Deputies found more than 5 grams of meth in the vehicle.

Cooper was charged with ongoing criminal conduct, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, all of which are felonies. He also faces charges of operating while intoxicated and possesion of drug paraphernalia. Cooper is held on $26,300 bond.

Deputies arrested another Laurens man in connection with Cooper’s arrest. Corey C. Reese, 45, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine after deputies discovered he had 1 gram of meth in his home. He was placed in jail on $1,000 bond.
