Travis Loren Francis was born on September 20, 1987, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital. He was the son of Brian and Joann (Tiernan) Francis. Trav attended Pocahontas Catholic Grade School and graduated from Pocahontas Area Community High School in 2006. He went on to the Iowa Lakes Community College taking the Automotive Technology course. He started his career as a mechanic at Pocahontas Sales and Service and was currently employed at Pro Co-op, a job he loved. His favorite things to do were to ride his Harley or drive his shiny red Chevy pick-up. Uncle Travy also enjoyed spending time with his nephews, giving them rides on the go-kart he restored or on the 4-wheeler. Travis was currently working on restoring his grandpa Loren’s 1940 M Tractor. Trav was hoping to fully restore it and loved riding on it, just a month ago, he participated in the “Ride 4 Ryan” tractor ride.

You may have met Trav as a stranger, but by the time the conversation ended, you were friends. He loved to go to “The Rose” to gamble, but also just to hang out and visit with the people there. Everyone loved him and he loved everyone he met.

He will be greatly missed by his parents, Brian and Joann of Pocahontas; sister, Lindsey (Brandon) Schaecher of LeMars; nephews, Carson and Owen and a baby due in October; grandparents, Loren and Grace Tiernan of Pocahontas and Leo and Lavon Francis of Palmer and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.
