Appreciates a stranger’s kindness

To the editor:

I have lived in Fort dodge for 20-plus years. I was in Fareway (recently), and when I went to get my bank card to pay it was not in my billfold. I was going to pull my checkbook out and the gentleman behind me told the cashier to just add my total to his. I have no idea who he was and told him it was ok I had my checkbook but he insisted on paying it.

I use an electric wheel chair and get around town in the summer time when it isn’t too cold. It is hard enough to find someone to just open a door or get the city to cut curbs.

Sir, whoever you were, thank you very much.
