Teen shot early Saturday

A 17-year-old has been released from Trinity Regional Medical Center after being shot in the forearm early Saturday morning, according to a press release.

Fort Dodge Police responded to a call of possible shots fired in the area of the 300 block of N. 8th St. or N. 9th. St. at 1:31 a.m. Saturday.

Several witnesses told police they heard eight to nine shots fired in the area.

Officers were unable to find any evidence of the shots.

At 1:47 a.m. police learned that a 17-year-old boy arrived to Trinity Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

The victim told police that while he was outside his house at the 800 block of 4th Ave. N., a dark-colored 4-door car drove by and fired multiple shots at him.

He suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his forearm.

Police are continuing the investigation, but have limited information, according to the press release.

Police are asking anyone who has key information to this shooting to help them identify the vehicle, the people in the vehicle, or where they can locate any illegal firearms.
