BOONE -Edna Meyer, age 89, of the Westhaven Community in Boone and formerly of Lytton, died July 18, 2014, at Westhaven in Boone. She has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Westhaven Community, 112 W. Fourth Street, Boone. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, north of Lytton, Iowa.

Edna Marie Meyer was born on a farm near Lytton, on October 2, 1924, the daughter of Louis and Nettie (Block) Meyer. She graduated from Lytton High School in 1942. For over 30 years, Edna worked as a clerk at several grocery stores in Lytton, retiring at the age of 64. She moved to Boone in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Helen Flock, and two brothers Raymond and Harold Meyer. Edna is survived by two sisters, Geneva Stoneburner of Boone and LuNetta Goings of Orland, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Chapel of the Westhaven Community on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time. The family will be present at the Chapel after 10 a.m.
