On July 1, 2014, Rolland (Rollie) Benjamin of Englewood, Florida, entered his mansion in heaven where he joined his father, Robert Benjamin, brother Raymon Benjamin, and grandparents: Chris and Emelia Benjamin and Sam and Kristina Olsen. He is waiting there to greet his son, Chad Benjamin, of Davenport, Iowa; mother, Isabelle Benjamin, of Humboldt, Iowa; sisters: Roberta (Robert) Boore of Bettendorf, Iowa, Rebecca (Ronald) Juelfs of Ames, Iowa, Rachael (Jake) Bullock of Clarksville, Tennessee, and sister-in-love Kathy Benjamin of Rutland, Iowa; brothers: Roderick (Nancy) Benjamin of Benson, Minnesota, Royal (Elaine) Benjamin of Parker, Colorado, and Reginald (Courtney Mae) Benjamin of Bradgate, Iowa, as well as seventeen nieces and nephews and many close friends.

Born on June 24, 1952, Rollie was raised on a farm near Bradgate, Iowa, and graduated from Gilmore City High School. He worked as a mechanic until an accident confined him to a wheelchair. Rollie enjoyed hosting family and friends at his Florida residence as well as making his annual summer trip to Iowa where he spent time with family and friends. Rollie’s sparkling blue eyes, contagious smile, and generous heart will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service celebrating Rollie’s life will take place at the Senior Citizen Center (607 1st Ave S Humboldt, Iowa) on Saturday, August 9, at 2 PM.
