LAKE CITY – Carl Kalous, 88, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lohrville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday with a rosary at 4:30 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.
Carl Henry Kalous was born on March 2, 1926 at Lohrville, Iowa to Henry and Rose (Geisler) Kalous. He graduated from Lohrville High School in 1944, thenserved in the United States Navy until 1947. On February 15, 1949 Carl married Jean Schaffer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake City. He worked as a farmer in the Lohrville area.
Carl is survived by his sons David (Becky) Kalous and Ron (Val) Kalous, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and sisters Betty Thomasson and Mary Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, and daughter Rosanne Kacmarynski.
