Crash sends FD teen to hospital

MANSON – A Fort Dodge teenager was taken to a hospital following a recent crash in Calhoun County.

Caryn L. Dawson, 16, was transported to Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Information on her condition was unavailable Friday.

The crash happened at 7 p.m. Wednesday on 180th Street just east of Calhoun County Road P19, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Troopers reported that Dawson was heading west in a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker when she lost control of the vehicle. It went into the ditch along the north side of the road and rolled onto its top.

The Iowa State Patrol reported that Dawson was cited for failure to maintain control.
