Cemetery Walk succeeds

To the editor:

The Friends of Oakland Cemetery Walk was a great success. We would like to thank the following who made this possible: All of the portrayers and guides for their dedication and hard work; Dan Garst and Ashley Garst at Party Productions for use of the chairs and Dae Elmore at Masque Productions for all of the costumes; Sue Heistand and Iowa Central Community College for the bus drivers and for the use of the BioScience and Health Sciences Building; Bill Grady for filming the walk; Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for the use of the parking lot; Pat Cox and Corpus Christi Cemetery for allowing the buses to drive through it; Rabiner Boys Ranch boys for helping set up and take down all of the chairs and for being ushers at Iowa Central; Three Eagles Radio stations for running the PSA announcements; Becker Florist for the entrance flowers; The Messenger and Fort Dodge Press for the publicity; the Parks and Recreation Department for getting the cemetery ready for the walk; the commission members for their yearlong work and dedication; and everyone who attended the walk

Each year the walk would not be a success if it wasn’t for all of the great people who take the time to come and enjoy learning about the history of Oakland Cemetery and the people who are buried there and of the early days of Fort Dodge through the portrayers. Thanks to all of you who were a part of this year’s Oakland Cemetery Walk
