Disturbance brings police to home

Jimmy Dillard Sr., 60, 720 N. 15th St., was taken into custody early Saturday morning following a disturbance at his home.

According to a press release from the Fort Dodge Police Department, officers were called to the house to investigate a disturbance between two people at 6:17 a.m.

When police arrived, they found Mona Dillard, 55, who also lives at that address, in the front yard. As officers began speaking to her, Jimmy Dillard, who was still inside the house, began yelling at all of them. Since he appeared to have a shotgun in his hands, officers moved Mona Dillard from the area. However, Jimmy Dillard did not point the weapon at anyone.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., Jimmy Dillard left the house and was apprehended without further incident. Mona Dillard was checked by Trinity EMS at the scene and released.

A shotgun was recovered from the house. While the incident is still under investigation, charges were not immediately filed.

Traffic on Fifteenth Street was shut down during the incident.

Members of the Webster County Sheriff’s office, Webster County/Fort Dodge Special Emergency Response Team, Fort Dodge Fire/EMS and Unity Point/Trinity EMS were called to assist as officers spoke with Jimmy Dillard.
