CALLENDER – Ronald E. Corell, 78, passed away Friday July, 11 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday July 15 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, in Callender, with Pastor Jon Rollefson officiating. Graveside services will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday at Cass Township Cemetery in Strawberry Point with Rev. Paul R. Peters officiating. Friends may call after 4:00 PM Monday at Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Kim (Kent) Peterson; Pam (Bob) Pingel; sons, Randy (Rene) Corell; David (Jennifer) Corell, all of Callender; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlene Corell of Cedar Rapids; niece, Janet Montour and a nephew James Ohl.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Adelaide (Menge) Corell; a sister, LaVonne Ohl; and a brother, Cletus Corell.

Ronald E. Corell was born August 23, 1935 in Edgewood, IA, and graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1954. Ron was united in marriage with Judy Miersen on February 7, 1957. The couple farmed on the family farm in Strawberry Point. In 1966 they moved to Iowa Falls and later to Denison when Ron was a federal meat inspector. They moved to Callender when he was employed for Betty Jean Furniture and Prairie Community Schools as a transportation director. He also drove for Northwest Iowa Tours. Ron was a volunteer Firefighter for Callender Fire Department, a Boy Scout leader, and a member of the senior citizens card club.
