HUMBOLDT – Faith E. Tabor, 84, of Humboldt, passed away July 7, 2014 at Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Humboldt. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.

Faith Elizabeth Guggisberg, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Poldervaart) Guggisberg, was born September 28, 1929 in Humboldt County. She was raised on her parent’s farm near Vincent and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Faith went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls where she received her teaching degree. She taught in for two years in country schools until her marriage to Claire Tabor on September 11, 1949. The couple made theirhome in Beaver Township where they farmed until moving to Humboldt in 1958.

For many years, Faith served as the secretary of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and entertaining. Her family was always her first priority. In the fall of 2006, she and Claire moved to Friendship Haven and he passed away in November of that year. In January of 2009, Faith became a resident of Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly. She passed away there on the morning of July 7, 2014 at the age of 84.

Faith is survived by her children and their spouses, Deborah and Mike Berstler of Waverly, Dennis and Margie Tabor of Johnston, and Dee and Taz Cole of Ogden; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Wilbur Moore of Humboldt. Her parents and husband, Claire preceded her in death.
