Police cited Lock with operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control, according to officers on the scene.

“He was just squealing,” Walstrom said. “Then he was flying and turned off of 12th Street.”

Walstrom said Lock was swerving all over the road.

Then Lock stopped his car for a few minutes, Walstrom said.

Lock then drove dove South on 11th Street and then into the house, Matt Lundberg, Fort Dodge Police Sergeant, said.

“When I heard the crash, I checked my phone,” Walstrom said. It was 1:41 a.m.

The staircase leading up to the home is destroyed, taking support away from a central beam.

Police contacted the building’s management to get the staircase repaired.
