SAN BERNADINO, Calif. – Margaret Elaine (Ness) Slotten, 64, of San Bernadino, CA, passed away suddenly on May 14, 2014.
Margaret was born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa on December 28, 1949, to the late Ralph M. Ness and Doloris (Mosel) Ness of Callender, Iowa. Margaret grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Prairie Community High, Gowrie, Iowa in 1968 and graduated from Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, in 1972. Margaret married Lyle Slotten on August 1, 1971 and they made their home in many different states including Maryland, Florida, Washington, Mississippi, Texas and California. She was a talented vocalist and an avid quilter.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband Lyle and son Andrew; her mother, Doloris Ness; siblings Marilyn (David Daughdrill), North Port, Florida; Richard (Julia) Ness, Boyd, Minnesota; Randall (Star) Ness, Callender, Iowa; Robert (Kimberly) Ness, Grafton, Wisconsin; and Laurie (Kenneth Eastman), Stillwater, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Douglas (Elin Slotten, Chevy Chase, Maryland, and sisters-in-law Deanna (Rod) Reifsteck, Elysian, Minnesota and Nancy (Jeff) Randolf, Garden City, Kansas. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Gunderson Funeral Home, Ft. Dodge, IA. A grave site service is being held at the Fulton Lutheran Cemetery on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends following the service until 12:00 p.m. at Fulton Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the American Heart/American Stroke Association, the American Diabetes Association or Mental Health America.
