Police: ‘Shots’ were likely fireworks

Fort Dodge police say a law enforcement dispatch call about possible gunshots being fired at 122 N. Eighth St. was likely fireworks.

Sgt. Matt Lundberg said the incident was reported as shots fired around 3 p.m. Thursday.

“We ended up making contact with the victim who said somebody had drove by and shot at him,” Lundberg said. “We made contact with the person he said he believed shot him and we don’t believe there’s anything to it.”

He added the victim may have been hearing fireworks.

No charges will be filed in the case.
