Dungy held on eluding charge
A man accused of leading police on a chase through town has been ordered held on bond.
Demontray L. Dungy, 24, of Fort Dodge, has been charged with eluding, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, second offense, driving with a suspended license and having dark windows/windshield.
His preliminary hearing has been set for July 10.
Dungy is accused of leading Fort Dodge police officers on a chase through town on Sunday afternoon.
Officer Keaton Lunn tried to pull over a 2005 Nissan Altima in the area of Second Street Northwest and Third Avenue Northwest when the driver sped off, according to Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody.
An unidentified black man jumped out of the car and fled on foot while the car was moving.
The car stopped in an alley near the 1600 block of Fifth Avenue South. Dungy fled on foot and was arrested in a nearby ravine a short time later.
Officers are trying to identify the man who fled the vehicle during the chase. Anyone with information is asked to call the FDPD at 573-1426.
