Dorothy C. Ostbloom, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Marian Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. A private family burial will be held in Washington Lutheran Cemetery south of Duncombe. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home with a Vigil at 7:00.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Craig (Mary) Ostbloom of Fort Dodge; Mark (Jan) Ostbloom of Mount Washington, KY; “Doug” Robert Ostbloom of Fort Dodge; and Debra (Mike) Parle of Fort Dodge; brother, Herb Conlon of Fort Dodge; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ellen (Harrold) Conlon; husband, Robert; sisters, Betty Brown and Donna Doughty; brother, John “Jack” Conlon; and grandson, Michael Ostbloom.

Dorothy Caroline Conlon was born August 1, 1934 in Fort Dodge. She was raised in Fort Dodge and attended Sacred Heart grad school, graduating from Corpus Christi in 1952. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Ostbloom on April 25, 1953 at Sacred Heart Church. She worked at the local phone Company from 1974 to 1984 and later assisted her son, Doug, in the operation of the Fireguard Safety Company for a period of time. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
