No new flooding

Locally, the Des Moines River appears to be about four-and-a-half foot above flood stage.

However, “the good news is the river appears to have reached its crest and should continue to recede … into the foreseeable future,” according to a press release issued by the Fort Dodge Police Department.

There are no new closures or restrictions to report, and it appears there are no new threats to homes or businesses. However, previously restricted areas will remain so until further notice.
