River search suspended
The search for two people who were reported to have fallen into the Des Moines River Thursday night has been suspended until new information is developed.
Officials ended the search at 10:30 a.m. today.
Fort Dodge Fire Chief Kent Hulett said searches conducted Thursday night and Friday morning came up empty.
“We feel we’ve done a complete search between last night and this morning,” Hulett said.
He added that no missing persons reports have come in.
If any new information is developed, Hulett said the search will resume.
A caller reported seeing two men, possibly in their teens, fall into the Des Moines River at 7:04 p.m. Thursday. Numerous public safety agencies began searching the river and its banks until it became unsafe for them to continue.
The people who fell in the river were described as possibly white males in their teens. One was wearing an orange shirt, while another was wearing a red shirt.
