The preliminary hearings for two Fort Dodge teens charged with attempted murder has been waived, and their cases are now in Webster County District Court.

Malik Veal, 18, and Jerique Bryson, 17, also had their arraignments scheduled for June 30.

The pair are each facing charges of attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Pleasant Valley on June 11.

The Fort Dodge Police Department reported that the pair had shot at each other behind houses in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue Southwest around 4:45 p.m.

During the exchange of gunfire, a woman, Wanda Mosley, 38, was shot inside her home at 1206 10th Ave. S.W. when she heard gunshots outside.

She was treated for an upper left shoulder injury and released from Trinity Regional Medical Center that evening.

The bullet passed through the wall of the house.

Both Veal and Bryson are being held in the Webster County Jail on $25,000 bond. Veal also had a $5,000 bond set on an escape from custody charge.
