Houk Sheetz to leave FD planning post
A Fort Dodge official who’s had a leading role in working to implement a downtown master plan will depart at the end of next month.
Stephanie Houk Sheetz, the senior city planner since 2009, will become the planning and community services manager in Cedar Falls.
Her departure was revealed during Tuesday’s meeting of the Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District.
Houk Sheetz said the new position will give her the opportunity to be a manager and to be involved in new things. She will be part of the Developmental Services Department in Cedar Falls.
She said she’ll probably start her new job on July 28.
Rich Seltz, the president of the district’s board, thanked Houk Sheetz for her service.
Chad Schaeffer, the city’s director of engineering, business affairs and community growth, said he’s confident her position will be filled after she leaves.
