KEVIN L. HILTON

HUMBOLDT – Kevin L. Hilton, age 52, of Humboldt, passed away on May 23, at his home in Humboldt.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 28, at the Shared Ministry of Rolfe with Pastor John Tomkins officiating

Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM, Tuesday, May 27, at the Powers Funeral Home in Rolfe.

Kevin Lee Hilton, son of Cheryl Jenalea and Bennie C. Hilton was born February 17, 1962, in Fort Dodge, IA and passed away May 23, 2014 at his home in Humboldt, IA at the age of 52. Kevin was baptized and confirmed in the Rolfe Methodist Church. He also attended Rolfe Community School graduating with the class of 1980. In July of 1981 he was united in marriage to Susan Kay Rapp at St. John’s Catholic Church in Gilmore City. Kevin and Susie are the parents of two sons; Jacob Lee and Cheston Benjamin. They later divorced.

After high school, Kevin went to work for Farmers Coop in Rolfe. While attending the Power Line Program school in Sheldon IA, Kevin accepted a job at Corn Belt Power Cooperative in Humboldt. Kevin was highly respected and regarded at Corn Belt for many years. Kevin was very proud of his two sons and their trades. Kevin later went to work at CEC Electric which is owned by his son Jacob and friend Fred Weers. Cheston is also an electrician with Koch Industries. His sons and grandsons provided a lot of conversations for Kevin. He enjoyed old country music, dancing, and playing cards with the boys at the VFW.

Kevin was a true conversationalist; he loved people and had many friends and acquaintances.

Kevin is survived by his sons; Jacob (Jenna) Hilton and their two sons Landon and Liam of Humboldt, and Cheston (Trista) Hilton of Fort Dodge, His mother Cheryl Jenalea Hilton of Emmetsburg; two brothers Brent (Mary) Hilton of Cylinder, Jim Hilton of Emmetsburg and sister Sharri (Charles) Mason of Emmetsburg; niece Kaity Mason and two nephews Joseph Hilton and Zachary Mason; one great nephew Ayden Hilton; Uncle Jim and Sharalyn Hansen of Rolfe, Aunt Julie and George Freidhof of Elma, IA; Susan Hilton plus cousins, extended family, and friends. Kevin was proceeded in death by his father Bennie Hilton, his maternal grandparents Chet and Mildred Hansen; his Aunt Janice Wiggins and his paternal grandparents Bert and Fannie Hilton.
