Gael girls top FD on the links
The St.?Edmond girls golf team defeated Fort Dodge 215-228 at Lakeside on Thursday.
St. Edmond’s Emma Halligan shot a 45 to earn meet-medalist honors.
“It was a good round of golf to help us prepare for regional competition on Monday,” said St.?Edmond head coach Justin Faiferlick. “It was very good to see the team persevere through through the cooler temperatures and finish out the rounds with good focus.”
Kylie Kuiper (53) of Fort Dodge was the runner-up.
Counting scores for the Gaels were Maggie Fitzgerald (56), Melissa Mikos (57) and Mya Lacina (57).
Also competing for St.?Edmond were Jill Doyle (61) and Lauren Moeding (63).
Fort Dodge’s counting scores were Payton Christy (56), Alex Hays (57) and Emma Gibson (62). Also competing were Lizzy Gollob (66) and Joz Porter (69).
Fort Dodge’s Emily Gosselin (69) shot the low score in junior varsity action.
Also competing for the Dodgers in JV were Payton?Crouch (70) and Maddie Gordon?(70).
St. Edmond’s JV competitors were Jada Myers (73), Bailey Baker (79) and Julia Fletcher (80).
The Gaels are back in action on Monday when they Regionals at Lakeside. Tee time is set for 10 a.m.
The Dodgers will compete in the Storm?Lake Invitational on?Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.
