Gaels win golf tournament

IDA GROVE – The St. Edmond boys golf team took home top honors from the OA/BCIG Invitational on Saturday.

The Gaels shot a 315. East Sac County (329) and South Central Calhoun (355) were next in line.

Eddie Doyle finished as meet medalist for SEHS, posting an even par 36-36-72. Michael Faiferlick of the Gaels (39-38) and East Sac County’s Justin Kraft (39-38) tied for a runner-up effort with 77s.

Rounding out the rest of St. Edmond’s lineup were Robert Flattery (42-40-82), Charlie Doyle (43-41-84), Harrison Mayer (45-45-90) and Halen Burke (45-51-96).

“Experiencing a new course and competition was good for us,” said SEHS head coach Dan Streit. “I thought we dd real well. We learned a lot and shot a real good score.

“I feel like this meet will certainly help us down the road.”

Other counters for the Raiders were Zach Mason (40-40-80), Austin Brown (46-40-86) and Dylan Scheffler (45-41-86).

Kory McCarter (44-43-87), Conner Ludwig (43-46-89), Jonas Otto (48-41-89) and Cyle King (46-44-90) filled out the Titan scorecard.
