CYNTHIA BRENDER

ROCKWELL CITY – Cynthia (Lange) Brender 65, of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan passed away March 4, 2014, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Chadric Dietrich officiating.

Cynthia is survived by her husband Robert Brender; daughters, Kristen (James) Kim; of Philadelphia, PA, and Kara Feemster of Chicago, IL; step-sons, James (Wendy) Brender of Greensboro, NC, and Jeff (Sarah) Brender of Ann Arbor, MI; grandchildren, Torin and Fayola Kim; her mother Ruthella Lange of Rockwell City; sister Deborah (Donald) Wheatley of Lake Mills, IA; brothers, Mark (Annette) Lange, and Timothy (Elaine) Lange, all of Rockwell City, and William (Carmen) of Joice, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

Cynthia was born August 24, 1948 in Sioux City, IA to Ruthella (Ahrendt) and the late Allison Lange. She graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1966. She attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Sioux City, and received her MBA from Marygrove College in Detroit, MI. Cynthia served as Director of Development for Aids Partnership Michigan until her untimely diagnosis.
