Westerhoff, Lee dominate for FD girls
The Fort Dodge girls soccer team reeled off an impressive 8-1 victory over Garner-Hayfield at Dodger Stadium Thursday night.
Madeline Westerhoff had her second four-goal game of the year. The senior also tallied goal goals earlier this season vs. Carroll.
Francis Lee, another senior, recorded a hat trick, while Paige Savery had three assists.
“We were working well together, connecting our passes and playing unselfish soccer,” said FDSH head coach Nathan Ramthun. “Everything was just really going well for us.”
Lee, who will play college soccer at William Penn University next year, now has tallied 20 goals in her career.
“Madeline and Francis just were in a groove,” Ramthun said. “We set them up nicely and they converted. It’s so important to have strikers who can finish after we set them up, and that’s what we have in Madeline and Francis.”
Iris Peiman had a goal and two assists, while Bailey Caldwell and Riley Hartman each added assists for the Dodgers.
