Student Senate hosts Fun Run

To the editor:

The Iowa Central Community College Student Senate would like to invite the community to participate in a 5k Fun Run/Walk on May 4 at Fort Frenzy beginning at 2 p.m.

Each year students participating in Iowa Central Student Senate choose one community service project to give back to the community. The students are very passionate about helping children and individuals along with their families who are battling cancer. This year, students have chosen to sponsor a 5K run/walk in which they are in charge of the event from start to finish. All money raised at the 5K will be donated to the Trinity Foundation for the pediatric unit/hospice fund. This is a small way the students feel they can give back.

Please join our students and help make the event a success. Registration for the event can be found at or contact Jenny Shivers at 574-1252 or The cost is $25, which includes a race day T-shirt. Registration packets may be picked up at the Iowa Central Rec on May 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. They will also be available at noon on the day of the event at Fort Frenzy.

The students are very excited to be able to help the Trinity Foundation help those in need.
