PAC, SCC girls tie in Manson

MANSON – The Pocahontas Area and South Central Calhoun girls track teams tied for top honors at the Brad Kruse Co-Ed Relays Thursday night.

Both the Indians and Titans recorded 103 points. Prairie Valley (93) and host Manson Northwest Webster (85) were next in line.

Elle Ruffridge (800, 2:36.82), Macey Bales (shot put, 40-11) and the 4×800 (10:33.26) were all champions for Pocahontas Area. Placing second for the Indians were the 4×400 (4:29.52) and the distance medley (4:42.03).

Mady Dick (1500, 5:26.22) and the 4×200 (1:54.68) captured titles for South Central Calhoun, while Ashley Henkenius (100, 13.61), Tyffaney Toms (shot put, 38-10), the 4×100 (55.03), the shuttle hurdle (1:28.48) and the sprint medley (1:57.64) each turned in runner-up efforts.

For Prairie Valley, Clara Pearson (long jump, 15-04.75), Katie Kehoe (discus, 104-3.75), Natalie Lambert (400 hurdles, 1:11.64), the 4×400 (4:25.72) and the distance medley (4:36.43) all prevailed. Finishing second for the Warriors were Lambert (100 hurdles, 17.12) and Zoe Schneider (high jump, 5-0 and 800, 2:37.52).

Ellie Herzberg picked up victories in the 100 (13.21) and 200 (27.11) for Manson Northwest Webster, while the 4×100 (52.89) also came out on top. Taylor Wood (discus, 101-11.75) and the 4×200 (1:56.78) each had runner-up performances for the Cougars.

Dijana Hammond (high jump, 5-0), the sprint medley (1:57.39) and shuttle hurdle (1:12.23) each secured gold for ESC.

Southeast Webster-Grand’s Emma Luhmann was first in the 3000 (12:12.34).
