FD boys blanked at Dowling

WEST DES MOINES – The Fort Dodge boys soccer team lost to West Des Moines Dowling on Tuesday.

The Dodgers (3-1 overall) dropped a 2-0 decision. Both goals by the Maroons came in the second half.

“Our varsity worked hard on the field, but we faced a very strong Dowling Catholic team,” said FDSH assistant coach Joe Jackson. “(Dowling) scored on a corner kick and an unlucky deflection.”

On the junior varsity side, the Dodgers fell short by a 2-1 count. Austin Dencklau scored for Fort Dodge off an assist from Cole Allison.

FDSH will be in action again on Saturday at the Waterloo West Invitational.
