Stage Door is on the move

To the editor:

As president of the board for Stage Door Productions and musical director of “Songs For a New World,” I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the production of “Songs For A New World,” which marks the first production by Stage Door Productions. My thank you to everybody who had a hand in making this show a success.

This production is only one of four that are scheduled for Stage Door Productions this year. The second will be “Frog and Toad” for grades nine through 12. Auditions will be held May 17 and May 18 at 3 p.m. The performances will take place July 17-19. The third show is “Peter Pan Jr.,” which will be put on by youths in grades five through eight. Audition dates are also May 17 and 18 at 3 p.m. Performance dates for “Peter Pan Jr.” are July 31 through Aug. 2. The final show for the 2014 season will be “Edges.” “Edges” is not a traditional musical; it is an exciting new show about four burgeoning adults asking classic coming-of-age questions. Auditions will be held today and Sunday at 3 p.m. Performances will be Nov. 13 through15. All the auditions will be held at First Baptist Church in Fort Dodge.

All of these shows offer a fine opportunity to witness firsthand the impressive work being done in the performing arts in Fort Dodge. We hope that you will continue to support our productions, and who knows, maybe even get up on the stage yourself. Please check us out on Facebook and our website (www.stagedoorfd.com) for upcoming Youth Musical Theater Workshops as well as a variety of other exciting opportunities.
