FD man charged with sexual exploitation

A Fort Dodge man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor after images were allegedly found in his home.

Dalton S. Dutcher, 21, of Fort Dodge, is accused of having digital images and videos of minors engaging in “prohibited sexual acts,” according to the criminal complaint filed with the Webster County attorney’s office.

Dutcher was arrested on Sunday, but had posted bond by the time of his appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court.

Magistrate William Habhab allowed Dutcher to remain released on bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 16.

Man charged in vehicle burglary

A Fort Dodge man is facing charges after allegedly burglarizing a vehicle and trying to flee from police.

Kaleb C. Huffman, 24, of Fort Dodge, is facing charges of third-degree burglary of a vehicle, criminal trespass, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 6:39 p.m. Saturday, the Webster County Communications Center received a call about a man who was inside a vehicle at 318 S. Fourth Street, according to Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody.

The caller was able to give dispatchers a detailed description of the suspect’s clothing and the direction he was fleeing towards.

In less than a minute, Officers Donald McLaren and Merdick Sorenson arrived on scene, and were able to find the suspect immediately. Carmody said the suspect, identified as Huffman, was arrested after a short foot chase.

Huffman was ordered held on $4,000 bond during his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court. Magistrate William Habhab also scheduled Huffman’s preliminary hearing for April 9.
