Robbery suspect arrested in South Dakota

Nathaniel Altman, who was being sought on robbery and theft charges in Fort Dodge, has been captured in South Dakota.

Altman, 27, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after he was identified as a suspect in local investigations.

Altman is facing charges of first-degree robbery, aggravated assault, grand theft and being a fugitive from justice in Sioux Falls. Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody said at some point, Altman will be extradited back to Fort Dodge to face the robbery charge here, but he did not know when that would be.

Altman is accused of robbing the Downtown Sinclair, 309 Second Ave. S., at knife point on Sunday, March 16.
