Sac City man charged with sexual assault
SAC CITY – An investigation into a sexual assault has led to a Sac City man being arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes involving children.
Christopher Carnine, 35, has been charged with third-degree sexual assault after a Lake View teenager filed a report with Sac City Police Sunday.
Sac City Police Chief John Thomsen said the 15-year-old told investigators she was sexually assaulted Saturday at 1106 Audubon Street, which is where Carnine lives.
During the Saturday incident, Carnine allegedly gave alcohol to minors and drove them around the Sac City area while he was drinking alcohol. As a result, Carnine is also charged with two counts of supplying alcohol to a person under the legal age and six counts of child endangerment.
In addition, Thomsen said further investigation revealed that Carnine allegedly had sexual contact with a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old. It’s alleged that Carnine had sexual contact with the two girls over a four-to-five-year period.
Carnine was charged with two counts of lascivious acts with a child for that incident.
He is being held in the Sac County Jail on $34,000 bond.
Thomsen said the investigation is ongoing and that more charges could be filed.
The Sac City Police Department was assisted by the Iowa Department of Human Services.
