Apps for farmers workshop set

CLARION – Micah Smidt, Iowa State University Extension associate, will discuss new smart phone applications for farmers at a workshop from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. March 24 at the ISU Wright County Extension office, Clarion.

Smidt will discuss applications in crop scouting, pest identification and crop record keeping. He will discuss several smart phone applications including a weather application, a field scouting application, using the flash on your smart phone camera as a flashlight, using your phone as a bubble level, and a GPS function on a smart phone.
