Scholarship available for soldiers’ kids

A scholarship for children of military service members who were killed or disabled in the line of duty is being offered through Humes Distributing Inc., of Fort Dodge.

The Folds of Honor scholarship is for someone who lives in Hamilton, Hardin, Humboldt, Pocahontas or Webster counties, according to an announcement from the business.

There are two types of secondary schooling scholarships (immediate and future use) and a Children’s Scholarship Fund that helps provide for both primary and secondary education.

For more information, see foldsofhonor.org/scholarships or foldsofhonor.org/childrens-fund. The application deadline is April 30.

Humes Distributing Inc. is the local distributor for Anheuser-Busch. Since Anheuser-Busch began a partnership with Folds of Honor, more than $6 million or 1,200 scholarships have been awarded.

This year, wholesalers were given the opportunity to donate a scholarship.

Humes Distributing Inc. joined every Anheuser-Busch wholesaler in giving a scholarship.
