FDSH department to host pasta dinner
The Fort Dodge Senior High career and technical education department will host a pasta dinner to raise funds for DECA, FCCLA and SkillsUSA competitions Thursday in the FDSH cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.m.
The menu includes pasta, marinara with meat or alfredo sauce, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drinks.
FDSH offers students CTE courses in business and marketing, family and consumer science, health occupations and industrial technology. These courses offer hands-on experience and learning for students looking to enter careers in these fields.
In addition to coursework, CTE student organizations prepare youths to be leaders in their communities through career and leadership development, and motivation and recognition programs. CTE students are encouraged to get involved in DECA, FCCLA and SkillsUSA. This April, 30 FDSH students will compete in the state SkillsUSA competition including students competing in the culinary and nursing categories for the first time.
Cost is $7 in advance or $8 at the door. Children 10 and under eat for $4. To pre-purchase tickets contact Amy Jaeschke at 574-5854, Julie Schreiber at 574-5747, ext. 58043, or Ed Birkey at 574-5747, ext. 58062.
