Earlene Kay Jenkins, 79, of Fort Dodge passed away on Saturday March 1, 2014 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. The visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 4, 2014 at the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven. A private service will be held at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Earlene was born in Lake City, IA on August 23, 1934 to Clifford “Chick” and Madge (Howe) Lawson. She grew up in Gowrie and graduated from Gowrie High School. She was united in marriage to Garry Jenkins on October 30, 1951. She worked in various women’s retail stores and most recently at the Gift Shop at Friendship Haven. She also enjoyed going to various sporting events to watch her grandchildren and traveling with friends.

Earlene is survived by her son Rod (Lyn) Jenkins of Brandon, SD and their sons Brandon and Kyle Jenkins, her son Bradley (Deanne) Jenkins of Omaha, NE and their sons Nick and Reid Jenkins, her daughter Cheryl (Kelly) Angstrom of Fort Dodge and their sons A.J. (Brenda), Justin and Cory Angstrom and her daughter Rhonda Williams of Chandler, AZ and her son Tyler (Britney) Williams and great-grandson Gavin and Jennifer (Danny) Weatherly and great-grandson Mason; and her sister LaVola Lizer of Gowrie. She was preceded in death by her husband Garry and her parents Clifford (Verle) Lawson and Madge (Lyle) Stewart.
