On January 29, 2014, Jody Evans Watson went to join our mother, grandparents, 2 brothers-in-law and 3 siblings in Heaven after a short but valiant battle with cancer.

She was born and raised here in Fort Dodge, and made many great friends who will miss her. She worked for many years for and with the great Doctors of Iowa Heart Center, first in Des Moines, then in Ames. She loved to go fishing and spend time with her 3 granddaughters, Lexi, Tessa and Raven.

After working for many years in the health care field, she made the decision to donate her remains to science, with the hope, that someday doctors will find a cure for cancer. The family will be holding a memorial in her honor in June 21st, 2014, at the Kennedy Lake shelter house. All who want to honor her memory are invited.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Watson her daughter Thaya (Derek) Evans, 3 granddaughters, her brothers, Terry (Linda) Evans, Jerry (Mary) Evans, Cliff (Alicia) Evans, William (Barb) Evans, and Eddie Pommering. Her sisters, Mary (Mike) Gemmel, Dale Klepinger, Le an Hinkle, Robin (Dan) Lankford, Kim Evans, Sheila Evans, 5 half-siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

she was preceded in death by our mother, Helen Evans, brothers and sister, Bobby Evans, Daryl Evans, Norma Evans, 2 brothers-in-law, Steve Klepinger and Bruce Hinkle and our grandparents.
