Cesil O. Musselman Jr., 82, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Fountain West Health Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. all at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of Fort Dodge; daughters, Elaine (Larry) Lindeen of San Diego, CA; and Denise (Mike) Flattery of Des Moines; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Mardell Reed of Fort Dodge and Betty Aultman of Humboldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cesil and Olivine (Sauvegeau) Musselman; brothers, Roland and Raymond Musselman.

Cesil O. Musselman was born on February 20, 1931 in Fort Dodge where he was raised and educated. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. On July 18, 1955 he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Derrig and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Cesil worked for Hormel for 34 years until retiring in 1983. He then worked part time for a number of years for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Fort Dodge. Cesil was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and past member of Local 31. Cesil was always there to help family, friends, and neighbors. He was well known for his gift of gab and sense of humor.
