Duncan receives educators scholarship

Cally Duncan has been selected to receive the Educational Persistence Scholarship from the Professional Educators of Iowa Foundation. Duncan is attending Iowa State University as a part of its Honors Program.

Duncan graduated from Prairie Valley High School in 2013. She was a member of the high honor roll all four years of her high school career, and from 2010-13 was vice president of the National Honor Society. Duncan has also been involved in extracurricular activities such as softball, volleyball and dance.

In addition to her academic and athletic achievements, Duncan has volunteered much of her time to the community. She has helped raise money for childhood cancer awareness, delivered meals to the elderly, and helped keep her community a clean and safe environment.

Duncan is currently studying elementary education at Iowa State University with a goal to make advances in education that will reach students of all learning levels.

Professional Educators of Iowa Foundation allots more than $8,000 in scholarship money each year for Iowa students, educators, and education volunteers.
