Arlene Taylor, 84, of Fort Dodge passed away on Saturday January 18, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with burial following at North Lawn Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Arlene Genevieve Davis was born on May 3, 1929 to John and Lucinda (Porter) Davis. She worked at Central Phone Co, Globe Union and Webster County Facility for 25 years. She married Donald Arley Taylor on February 24, 1951. She loved the Lord and she gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Westside Church of Christ for many years until her health declined. She loved her family and they were always first in her life. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. She kept busy with her crafts, sewing, quilting, making and collecting porcelain dolls and spending time at Twin Lakes entertaining family and friends.
Arlene is survived by her husband Don; children Donald A. Taylor, Cyndee L. (Tim) Olson and Tim (Tammy) Taylor; grandchildren Chris (Heather) Taylor, John Taylor, Megan Taylor, Sarah (Brian) Crowley, Aaron (Rachel) Olson, Jennifer (Eric) Titus, Geoff (Lori) Taylor, Matt (Shelley) Taylor and Emily (Shawn) Oaks; 10 great-grandchildren; her sisters Ethel Daniels and Vivian Crinnigan and her best friend Peggy McBride. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Lucinda and her siblings Merle Davis, Marvin Davis, Hazel Messerly and Bev Nelson.
