MOORLAND – Roy “Will” Traster, 62, of Moorland, passed away on January 13, 2014 at his home.

Will was born October 6, 1951 in Escondido, California in the car on the way to the hospital, to Roy G. and Amy (Scribner) Traster. Will was raised and attended school in Gowrie. Will also attended Iowa Central Community College. He served in the Iowa National Guard for 30 years, retiring in 1998. During his service, Will assisted in Flood Relief in Des Moines in 1993 and served in both Korea and Europe. He was proud of his service to his country and enjoyed his time and connections made with service members from every branch of the military.

Will was married to Marlys Traster and they made their home in Moorland. Marlys passed away on December 24, 2013.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his church, the United Congregational Church in Moorland. The celebration will begin at 11 a.m.

Will is survived by one daughter, Rebekah and one grandchild, Audrey, both of Ankeny. He is also survived by his stepchildren and their significant others Lisa (Dan), Dan (Jo), John (Gayle) and Tim (Marcy). His 21 stepgrandchildren: Codey, Kyle, Zach, Cassie, Hope, Jasmine, Grace, Ben, Maisey, Lainey, Evie, and Elijah Ellsbury (Lisa). Lacey, Kolton, Kaelin, and Madison Lundberg (Dan). Lindsay and Brittany Lundberg (John). Mariah, Jacob and Carly Lundberg (Tim). and one stepgreat-grandchild, Saige (Lacey).

Also surviving Will are his siblings and their families: Clara Krog, Vincent; Darold and Colleen, Gowrie; Terry and Joy, Fort Dodge; and Steve and Juline Traster, Callender.
